Public Consultation on the Evidence based Guidelines on Lung Cancer Treatment and Palliation

The Centre for Evidence-Based Guidelines at the Department of Health Research (DHR), in collaboration with the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC), and the Department of Health & Family Welfare, hereby invites public and stakeholder comments on the draft Evidence-Based Guidelines on Lung Cancer Treatment and Palliation.

These guidelines have been developed through a rigorous, transparent, and systematic process aligned with internationally accepted best practices in guideline development. The methodology included framing of key questions in PICO (Population, Intervention, Comparator, Outcome) format by the Guideline Development Group (GDG), comprehensive systematic reviews of the available scientific evidence, critical appraisal and grading of evidence quality, structured expert consensus, and contextualisation to the Indian healthcare setting. The document comprises 15 evidence-based recommendations covering key aspects of lung cancer management and palliation, with the objective of standardising clinical practice, improving quality of care, enhancing patient outcomes, and supporting informed decision-making by healthcare providers across public and private sectors in India.
